Season special offers allow scope for some fun design, whether it’s ‘winter wonderland’, bak 2 skool’ specials or whatever.

With Roland’s 2009 summer sales promo, it had to be music-themed given that’s the industry the company is in, so I drew on years of grungy festival experience for the print ad.

Happily, festival-going is now a much more mainstream undertaking than it used to be, and the language and communication of the festy poster is universally understood.

The two ‘headline’ products get top billing with the others in supporting roles – and a dirty billboard surround ads some depth to the piece
